To be (poesía)

En esta ocasión, nos honramos al contar dentro del Blog con un poema de uno de los docentes de la Fundación: Gabriel P.B., encargado de las clases de  Inglés y varias de Narrativa junto con Mirta K.

To be

Fleeting are we
to fleetingly say

for this fleeting moment
I’ve been

and through this fleeting instant
I am

seeing this bird
hearing its song

feeling the sun
drawn through diaphanous shades

and the dog with her paws
propped up on my lap

and her eyes looking at me
without memory

and no future pretense
merely a moment

of wanting to be
touched

and then go away
content

to be a dog
who’s been petted

and I a man content
for a moment

to make a dog glad
to be a dog

and I a man glad
to be a man.
